How we pick
our silks.
We don't just "stock" sarees. Every piece on our counter has been inspected by the Shasthas family. We work directly with master weavers in Kanchipuram, Banaras, and Mysore.
Loom Verified: Every Kanchipuram carries a genuine Silk Mark. We verify the weight of the silk before it arrives.
Single Pieces: Our curation is limited. Once a unique color-way is gone, it is gone.
Our Legacy
Four generations.
One counter in Hassan.
Shasthas Vasthra Bandar opened in Hassan, Karnataka, in 1972. We started as a single counter trading silk sarees from Kanchipuram, Banaras and Mysore. Half a century on, the same counter still stands, and the same families still come back.
We don’t make everything ourselves. We make sure that what we sell — Kanchipuram with a silk-mark tag, Banarasi with handwoven jangla, Mysore silk woven on the KSIC loom — is what it claims to be. If we can’t verify it, we don’t stock it.
Today, a fourth generation is at the store. The same room, the same low counter, the same brass bell. We deliver pan-India, but the easiest way is to walk in.

The simplest way to know a saree is to fall over it in person. We have drape benches, a coffee counter, and someone who has been selling silk for forty years.
